It's just enough time to give me the feeling it’s not enough
Vine is weird, it somehow annoys the heck out of me. I kept quite some time thinking why it makes me feel the way I do. And frankly speaking, it’s like as if a big pile of human-mind-junk is being poured into my brain.
I enjoy looking at photographs my friends take, because it captures a moment, gives me an impression of atmosphere and leaves just enough room for my own imagination.
On the contrary, vine’s length of 6-second videos is just enough time to give me the feeling that it’s not enough. It’s a broken impression, a weird remix of a situation, a distorted feeling. One short comment, some images that start as abruptly as they end, together with sound that seems to appear out of nowhere.
Imagine walking through your town on a quiet morning and then bumping into an approaching bulk of people, where each single one of them will suddenly try to start a conversation. But they’ll only talk to you for six seconds and then leave again. It would leave you behind feeling weird, wouldn’t it?
